National Neighborhood Watch Awards of Excellence
The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs' Bureau of Justice Assistance, is pleased to announce they are accepting nominations for the Third Annual National Neighborhood Watch Awards of Excellence to be presented at NSA's 2006 Conference. All law enforcement agencies, Neighborhood Watches, and organizations that have made an exceptional contribution to the Neighborhood Watch program in their community are encouraged to submit nominations to NSA by March 31, 2006. The Department of Justice has released the Third Status Report to the Attorney General on Body Armor Safety Initiative Testing and Activities.

On August 18, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, U.S. Department of
Justice, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched MethResources.gov.
National Sex Offender Public Registry
On July 20, the Department of Justice announced the activation of its National
Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPR) web site,
which provides real-time access to public sex offender data nationwide with
a single Internet search.
