FY 2002 DRUG COURT GRANT PROGRAM

AWARD RECIPIENT:

Thirteenth Judicial District, Valencia County District Court
Los Lunas, NM

AWARD AMOUNT:

$ 497,750*

PURPOSE: The Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court will use grant funds to implement a post-adjudication juvenile drug court program. The goals of this drug court are to reduce substance abuse and recidivism, improve family functioning, and improve individual client functioning within the community. This rural community plans to serve approximately 110 clients and 110 family members over the 3-year grant period. The program will include a minimum of 8 months of treatment and a 3-month aftercare component. Upon completion of the program, clients may have their records expunged. The program consists of intensive judicial supervision, sanctions and incentives, and frequent, mandatory drug testing. The court will collaborate with local agencies in the17 areas of the Enterprise Community, as well as the Isleta Pueblo Reservation.
