AWARD AMOUNT:

$167,474*

PURPOSE: The Stoddard County Drug Court Team will use grant funds to implement an adult drug court, which will target nonviolent, substance-abusing adult offenders. The primary goals of the program are to enhance public safety and reduce the number of substance abusers committed to prison. The program will serve 60 to 70 clients over a 3-year period. Clients will be expected to participate in the program for a minimum of 12 to 18 months. The drug court will provide intensive judicial supervision, treatment, mandatory drug testing, graduated sanctions, aftercare, and other rehabilitative services. Additionally, a management information system will be utilized to monitor client progress and to conduct process and outcome evaluations. The program will provide collateral services such as mentoring, transportation, mental and primary health care, employment, and educational services. The Stoddard County Drug Court will coordinate its efforts with the following agencies: Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Missouri State Public Defender System, Missouri Department of Corrections, Southwest Missouri Community Treatment Center, and local law enforcement agencies.
